CAB Welcomes You to this Website

The CAB website with web 2.0 features offering rich user experience was formally launched by Shri.Sandip Ghose, Chief General Manager & Principal on April 01, 2009 as a part of the commemoration of Platinum Jubilee Year of the Reserve Bank of India. This new-look website of CAB, a premier training institution of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), is the result of the effort to make it more contemporary, user interactive as well as intuitive. The various new features include user registration facility, e-mail alerts, RSS, Share the Links, Rate, Post & View comments on individual articles/case studies/presentations, Discussion Forum, Media Gallery, etc. Apart from providing CAB’s profile and the details of the events/programmes being organised by CAB, the site has a good collection of useful material particularly relevant to the financial industry in various sections such as, Knowledge Bank, Online CAB Calling magazine, E-learning courses and Video archives of subject-wise & event-wise sessions.

As part of its efforts to encourage sustainable financial inclusion efforts by banks, the Reserve Bank of India has been encouraging the financial industry to harness the power of Information & Communication Technology (ICT) for reaching out to the unbanked population. With a view to provide a boost to these activities, the website has also a separate link hosting the E-portal on ICT Enabled Financial Inclusion efforts. The e-portal is envisaged to be a platform for sharing of a wealth of knowledge and experience and, therefore, has the potential to aid in leapfrogging the extension of formal financial services to the hitherto unserved population. The portal has various useful sections containing the policy initiatives by the Government of India and the Reserve Bank of India, Implementations by Banks & other financial institutions, International Experiences, a Knowledge Bank containing relevant articles/research papers, case studies, presentations and video gallery, various related news items, ICT solutions, etc.

The CAB website also hosts another major link which serves as an e-gateway to the Financial Inclusion & Financial Literacy Cell of the CAB. The Cell acts as the resource centre to facilitate both financial inclusion & financial literacy in the country.

RBI Governor Inaugurates Financial inclusion & Financial Literacy Learning Centre at CAB, Pune

A Financial inclusion & Financial Literacy Learning Centre set-up by the College of Agricultural Banking was inaugurated by RBI Governor on November 25, 2010. The occasion was also graced by our Top Management executives, Chairman, NABARD, the Chairman and Managing Director accompanied by the Executive Director of the Bank of Maharashtra, and the Director, NIBM. The participants of the Frontline Managers’ Conference on Financial Inclusion organised at CAB by Central Office RPCD were also present. The focus of the Centre is on housing a dynamic public gallery to present the developments in Financial Inclusion & Financial Literacy, organising events and workshops for capacity building in the areas of financial inclusion and financial literacy besides undertaking studies to ascertain impediments to financial inclusion initiatives with a view to aid in policy formulation. The centre is also intended to be a repository of related resources for research and innovations in the areas of financial inclusion and financial literacy. It will be used as a vehicle to reach out to all the age groups, classes and genders.

Apart from the thousands of executives and officials visiting the College for various events/training programmes, it will also promote regular visits by the students of Schools and Colleges, housewives and workers from the unorganised sector and the nearby villagers. The event was extensively covered by the media and consequently, requests have already been received from various academic institutions, banks and other agencies for visiting the Centre and arranging trainings on financial inclusion. Stakeholders may also regularly contribute materials for possible inclusion in the Centre’s collection of resources.
